In cosmetics and personal care products, propanediol has the following effects:

– First,  Propanediol  has high moisturizing properties, better moisturizing than propylene glycol. This substance will draw moisture from the air to provide it to the skin, thereby enhancing the effective hydration of skin cells.

– It forms a film on the surface of the skin to help prevent water loss, helping to soften the skin.

– Helps reduce the formation of wrinkles effectively.

It is considered an excellent solvent for ingredients that are difficult to dissolve in water such as salicylic acid, ferulic acid and ascorbic acid.
