INTRODUCTION:
• Thioglycolic acid is synthesized by reacting sodium or potassium chloracetate with an alkaline metal hydrosulfide in an aqueous environment. It can also be produced through Bunte salts obtained from the reaction of sodium thiosulfate with chloroacetic acid.
