* STATUS: A thick, jelly-like, slightly clear, colorless to pale amber gel.
* CHARACTERISTICS AND USES:
Dowsil EL-7040 is an Elastomer – a mixture of polymeric silicone elastomers modified by polyglycol in caprylyl methicone. Has the following characteristics:
– Capable of combining polar solvents and water while maintaining a viscous, gel structure.
– Compatible with many oils, organics, silicones…
– Gives a very smooth, silky feeling like velvet when applied to the skin.
– Enhanced spreadability compared to traditional silicone elastomer gel
– Dispersion support for lipophilic actives, including sunscreen
Supports the dispersion of water-soluble active ingredients, including Vitamin C, Aloe Vera, caffeine and Sensicalmine™
– Contributing to make the product special.
– Can be used in all emulsion systems: O/W, W/O, W/Si, and anhydrous systems.
– Use for cold process
*APPLICATION:
– Cosmetic products such as cream, skin care lotion, sunscreen, makeup cream..
*Usage rate: 2-5%.
Usage Note: It is common to add Dowsil EL-7040 to the oil phase or the silicone phase in an emulsion formulation. In some cases, it is possible to add DOWSIL EL-7040 to the aqueous phase provided that sufficient elastomer and shear forces are applied to cause phase inversion.
