*INTRODUCTION:

• 94% of the world’s saffron is grown in Iran.  A single saffron flower has only 3 stigmas and is completely hand-picked. Therefore, Saffron is also known as the most expensive spice in the world. Saffron has an aroma similar to honey, and contains high levels of croxin.

*CHARACTERISTICS AND USES:

– The results of the FRAP (antioxidant capacity measurement) test showed that at a concentration of 300 gg/ml, saffron extract has  twice times as the antioxidant capacity as tomatoes and carrots.

– Inhibits NO production (inhibits inflammatory factors TNF-1, IL1–, IFN-OS, …).
